More than 250 economists and academics in 24 countries signed a letter asking the leaders and ministers of finance to reach a final agreement to implement a Financial Transactions Tax in Europe (FTT) during the Ministers of Finance meeting in Luxembourg in October.
Thus, in addition to the petitions signed by more than a million citizens in 2015, economists from all over the world joined the effort including names like Joaquín Estefanía, Carlos Berzosa, Domingo Carbajo, José Moisés Martín, Miguel Otero Iglesias, the Royal Institute Elcano, and Federico Steinberg.
